As clashes continue across Israel-Palestine, the Al Makassed Hospital was this week raided by Israeli security forces demanding that staff hand over the medical records of Palestinian patients treated there.

According to the Ma'an news agency, the hospital's director, former MAP CEO Rafiq al-Hussieni, said that forces entered the facility on Tuesday and Wednesday requesting the medical files of a Palestinian youth who was shot by Israeli forces, treated in the hospital, and recently detained.

On Thursday, Physicians for Human Rights Israel posted a video purporting to show tear gas, stun grenades and sponge-tipped bullets being fired towards the hospital by Israeli forces.

Also on Thursday, a man from the Jabal al-Mukabbir neighbourhood of East Jerusalem died after an ambulance trying to reach him was delayed at new Israeli checkpoints erected in the city. This news comes as the Palestinian Red Crescent Society report 188 attacks on their medical teams and ambulances since the start of October.

The current crisis has so far left more than 60 Palestinians dead and 7,000 injured. In response to an urgent call from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, MAP has committed to provide $100,000 of emergency medical supplies to hospitals in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including antibiotics, saline solution, and blood serum.

MAP is calling for the protection of medical infrastructure and personnel, unrestricted access to those seeking to reach and treat the wounded, and the respect for the inviolability of hospitals during the crisis.
